Streetscape Improvement
streetscapeWith our Belgian block streets, industrial architecture and historic streetscapes, the Dumbo Improvement District takes great pride in our community and is dedicated to providing and maintaining an exceptionally high standard of street maintenance. To that end, we work with the Doe Fund who ensures that our streets are clean and sidewalks are maintained. Year round, seven days a week the DOE Fund employees (a.k.a. the "Men in Blue") are out in DUMBO. Additionally, we have secured 10 additional trash receptacles for the neighborhood, and the Department of Sanitation has increased trash pickups from 3 to 6 days a week.

Not only is DUMBO cleaner, it is getting greener too; in the last two years, we have overseen the planting of 52 trees. In the summer of 2007, the Dumbo Improvement District created a new public space the Pearl Street Triangle that features potted trees, plantings, public art, and café tables and umbrellas.
